Parent-Child Dedication FAQ

1. Do I need to attend the class each time I have a child to dedicate?

No. Once you have attended the class, subsequent dedications do not require attending the class. Simply print off the Parent Child Dedication Form, complete it, and turn it in to the church office, along with a recent photo of your child.

2. Why does Community Church do dedications instead of infant baptisms?

Please click HERE to read our explanation.

3. Does Community Church expect us to have God-parents for our child and will those folks be up on the stage with us during the dedication?

No. Identifying God-parents is an idea we will support but we do not require it of parents. And, no, they are not expected to come up on the stage with you during the dedication, though you may invite them to do so.

If you have any further questions about Parent Child Dedication, please feel free to reach out to our Interim  Children’s Ministry Director, Kathy Heinzelman, online here.
